Mobiles As PCs: Here’s How To Turn An Android Into A Computer

Mobile phones, used as PCs, can be a reality. There are several ways to achieve this, and one of the simplest is to connect your cell phone to a larger device, such as a monitor. Today practically everyone has at least one cell phone and often uses it instead of a computer.

If, over the years, the telephone has spread more and more, this can also be used to replace the computer. And if the statistics indicate that the best-selling models use an Android system, one can think of transforming the cell phone into a small PC with a few steps and expedients. Here, then, is how to make your mobile phone a miniature PC and use it in emergencies or when we don’t have our personal computer available.

Mobile Phones, Like PCs, Are The Most Straightforward ” Transformation Method”

Mobile phones, used as PCs, can be a reality. There are several ways to achieve this, and one of the simplest is to connect your cell phone to a larger device, such as a monitor. Until a few years ago, the micro USB with display port support was available, and in other cases, the mini HDMI outputs, today the connection system is different. It is, in fact, the Type-C connector with standard 3.1, which is compatible with video transmission.

Thanks to this system, physically connecting your Android phone with a larger screen, from a PC monitor to a TV, will be possible. There are also wireless connection systems for monitors that support this type of standard and if you have tools such as the Chromecast. To begin, however, we will look at the “traditional” method of connecting the cell phone with a physical system versus the monitor.

The Material Needed To Transform The Mobile Phone Into A PC

First of all, you will need to obtain all the material to be able to make the connection. For this, it will be necessary to have a HUB Type-C or a HUB Micro USB. This type of connection will be evaluated based on the port of the chosen Android smartphone.

Then, to use the mobile phone more efficiently as a PC, it will be necessary to have a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse: in this way, you will have all the necessary commands available. The final goal you want to achieve will be to carry out the so-called Mirroring of the smartphone screen on a larger device. Unfortunately, Mirroring is not supported by all mobile phones, and if this is not possible, you can always resort to connecting through systems such as Google Chromecast.

The Use Of The HDMI Cable And Adapter

If you have a device that allows cable connection, you will need to have an HDMI and Type-C adapter and a classic HDMI cable. The cable is always preferable when we want to use a connection that does not waste time and data. To date, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth connections are not yet operational, but there will be new connection technologies soon. In this way, you can make the “physical” connection between your mobile phone and the other device.

The Use Of The Google Chromecast

If, on the other hand, you don’t have the “physical” connection available, then you can opt for the use of Google Chromecast. The best variants are those of the 2018 production, which guarantees stability at the level of screen Mirroring. Of course, your device must be powerful enough to support Mirroring, writing, programming, and so on.

If you fear that your cell phone is too old, you can invest in a more recent model or upgrade some elements of your cell phone. By now – given the hardware equipment of the various devices on the market – playing and working with your smartphone is no longer. Remember, however, that the smartphone does not have automatic and strengthened cooling systems such as game consoles and gaming computers do. Therefore we must always be careful not to overheat the device too much.
